Instant Classic: Ancient Greek Hero Engages Allston Community

Nearly a dozen residents turned out at the Harvard Allston Education Portal recently for the latest installment of HarvardX for Allston. The new educational initiative brings HarvardX content and edX courses to the Allston-Brighton community and general public by offering programs that integrate the latest in virtual education technologies with opportunities for in-person interactions and discussion.

Dean Minow Dips Into Digital Learning

The Digital Problem Solving Initiative (DIPSI) kicked off this week.

Organized by the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, the initiative is an "innovative and collaborative project that brings together a diverse group of learners (students, faculty, fellows, and staff) to work on projects to address challenges and opportunities across the university."

HX research fellow Justin Reich was also on hand, as he is a Berkman affiliate.

Today's announcement of a record-shatering $350M gift to the Harvard School of Public Health is, indeed, worth celebrating

And while it may be hard to look past the number, the Boston Globe story on the transformative gift made reference to some work by HarvardX, and more broadly, to the potential for using new technologies to educate learners around the world.
