Join Peter Suber and Kyle Courtney for an evening exploring open access, copyright, fair use, and the work of Harvard Library’s Office for Scholarly Communication (OSC). Suber and Courtney are working on the front lines in order to make Harvard scholarship available to scholars the world over.
The OSC spearheads campus-wide initiatives to open, share, and preserve scholarship, and maintains Digital Access to Scholarship at Harvard (DASH), the University’s open-access repository. DASH currently hosts 19,000 works of Harvard scholarship, which have been downloaded over three million times by scholars in 240 countries since 2009. The OSC supports the implementation of Harvard’s open access policies, which have been passed at eight schools, and maintains programs and resources to help authors navigate the world of open access. Join us to learn about the work Suber, Courtney, and OSC are undertaking in order to connect scholars—including those in the alumni community—to the vast resources and scholarship of the University.
