Do high-deductible health plans lead to good health care? That’s the question Dr. Ashish Jha set out to investigate by enrolling his own family in one of these plans. Dr. Jha, Director of the Harvard Global Health Institute, K.T. Li Professor of International Health & Health Policy at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, talked about his experience in a recent interview on the popular NPR radio program Marketplace.
Dr. Jha’s major research interests lie in improving the quality and costs of healthcare with a specific focus on the impact of policy efforts. He teaches two HarvardX courses: Improving Global Health: Focusing on Quality and Safety (launching in June 2017 with updated content) and Lessons from Ebola: Preventing the Next Global Pandemic (currently archived but remaining open to allow learners to continue exploring the content).
